The axis contributes to the transfer of traffic movement from the reservoir to the new axis, preserving the reservoir and extending its lifespan.

The axis will extend westward to connect with the Aswan Electric Train Station, while enhancing the efficiency of the road linking the east side of the axis to the Aswan-Bernice Road. Furthermore, the axis will connect the road leading to the Aswan/Bernice Road with the Western Desert Road (Cairo-Aswan), crossing the Nile River and the Western Agricultural Road (Cairo-Aswan), and linking to Aswan/Abu Simbel Road.

It has a length of 5.4 kilometers and a width of 29 meters, featuring three traffic lanes in each direction. It consists of tree structural works (2 bridges and One tunnel), including a bridge over the Nile with a length of 2050 meters, in addition to a tunnel and a bridge on the Western Desert Road, along with roadworks extending for 3.3 kilometers.
