Schiersteiner Rhein Bridge , Germany
كوبري شير شتاين راين - المانيا
The design for ShiersteinerRheinbridge was a design for the renovation of the link AB A 643 – 6-spuriger Ausbaubetween Autobahndreieck Mainz and Schiersteinerintersection at Wiesbaden. The main bridges over Rhein are over-hanging bridges with main spans of 205m and side spans of 100m.The height of the pylon is about 20m over the bridge deck. The bridge has a total width of about 25mThe over-hanging element is a steel member “not cable”, which has both axial and bending stiffness and activates the membrane stiffness of overhanging member and bending stiffness of the deck to carry service and environmental loads. The bridge deck is steel-compositebridge over the whole length. Dimensions of the over-hanging members were optimized using special technique to have this function.
